Student Awards


Catholic Students' Education Award

Awarded annually to students enrolled full or part-time in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta or enrolled in the Baccalauréat en éducation program at Campus Saint-Jean and who have successfully completed at least two courses in Christian Theology or Philosophy at St. Joseph's College.

Value: $500
Number: Variable

Applicants must have graduated from a Catholic School in:

Camrose Leduc Sherwood Park Wainwright
Drayton Valley Ponoka Vegreville Wetaskiwin
Fort Saskatchewan Provost Vermillion  

In determining awards, the Selection Committee will consider academic achievement, involvement in the activities/ministries of St. Joseph's College, and a statement of the applicant's career plans and vision for Catholic education in Alberta.

William Hsu Memorial Award

The William Hsu Memorial Award is awarded annually to full-time students who have shown outstanding participation and volunteer efforts that enhanced the St. Joseph’s College Community. Recipients do not need to be Catholic.

Award recipients must have been current full-time students at the University of Alberta in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale) during the 2016-17 academic year.

The William Hsu Memorial Award of $1000 will be presented to recipients at the St. Joseph’s College 2017 Ignite Gala on November 4, 2017.

The award adjudication process has closed for this year; we look forward to receiving your application next year!

 


Justice Kevin Feehan Award

Award recipients must have been current full-time students at the University of Alberta in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale) during the 2016-17 academic year.

Preference will be given to those enrolled in or who have completed the SJC Certificate in Catholic Education.

Student shows commitment to promoting and living Catholic Education values

The Justice Kevin Feehan Award of $1500 will be presented to the recipient at the St. Joseph’s College 2017 Ignite Gala on November 4, 2017. The student will also be recognized at the Annual ACSTA banquet in November, 2017.
